D-mon SCADA system Our D-mon SCADA system for process control, data collection and monitoring suits for both small- and large-scale applications up to several hundreds of thousands of I/O channels. D-mon is scalable and has a modular architecture. The supported operating systems are Windows 2000, Unix, Linux and QNX-RTP.
The user can develop herself the application-specific units easily. D-mon can adapt with its hierarchical architecture to tasks with multiple servers and different topologies. D-mon is object-oriented.
Customer-specific modules The D-mon SCADA system is capable of handling nearly endless number of signals. Modular architecture is one of the main virtues of the system. It is easy to tailor D-mon to the actual task by adding only the necessary modules. Networked PCs can extend the system’s capacity. There is no limit on the number of modules running parallel. Customer-specific modules can expand the system flexibly without any modification on the other parts. The main modules are:
Customer-specific modules extend the capabilities of the system. All the modules use the common communication API. It is easy to develop new specific modules in C by using the API. Every script and message is configurable, so the system is easily adaptable to any human language. The GSM module supports the creation of remote monitoring systems. The central server and the remote workstations have a two-way communication by SMS messages. The SQL interface connects the real-time database with any SQL-based relational data base system. The module uses the platform-independent ODBC or Embedded C interface. The Web-module enables the Web-based remote diagnostics, remote management and access-right-based technical monitoring of D-mon SCADA systems. The Simulation Module analyzes the affect of process control units before intervening into the industrial process.
Object-oriented software development assures the fast, cost effective and error free construction of systems of any size and complexity. Since it creates the dynamic description and images for every D-mon module, you need only to fill out the type libraries and the hierarchy description when you develop your application. This method assures flexibility in the development: you only have to modify at one place and all the types inherit the modifications automatically. This makes testing shorter, too. |
